ECO has been a partner in this programme since 2011. The aim is to create networks of researchers and seek opportunities for funding research into both the prevention and treatment of clefts. Key outputs for ECO have been the development of a European Cleft Gateway which provides a directory of cleft units and patient groups throughout Europe and a major conference in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2013 which brought together cleft researchers from 40 countries. Also of particular note was a presentation to MEPs at the European Parliament in 2013 which opened opportunities for future funding and research. More details can be found here
